1Bring in your scans

Drop scanned PDFs or images here

Select several files at once. New files are added after your existing pages.

Up to 100 source pages / 200 output pages. 50 MiB per file, 150 MiB total input; still images up to 30 megapixels.

Local processing. PDF.js and pdf-lib download from jsDelivr when needed; this site uses Google Analytics for page-visit statistics. Your files are not uploaded.

Ready when you are. Choose files or try the demo.

Apply settings in a batch

Use the split divider or crop margins from the page editor. Preview every result before applying.

A split rebuilds the entire source, even when only one half is checked. Both halves reset their crop, rotation, inclusion and relative order.

Your reading order starts here

Import scans or open the demo to see individual pages.

Check boxes for batch editing; click a thumbnail to edit just that page. Use ↑ and ↓ to reorder; omitted pages remain visible and can be included again. Every included thumbnail becomes one PDF page.

    3Fine-tune a page

Select a page to split, crop or rotate.

    4Make the finished PDF

Creates a new image-only PDF in the thumbnail order. Each raster is capped at 12 MP / 4096 px per side; requested DPI may be reduced. JPEG quality: 90%. Output limit: 150 MiB.

Keep your originals. Export flattens each page to an image: searchable text, OCR layers, links, forms, annotations and digital signatures are not preserved. This is not a secure-redaction tool.

How to turn book scans into a clean PDF

    1. Import in batches. Choose PDF files or JPEG, PNG and WebP images. PDF pages are expanded in their existing order, and images follow the order supplied by your browser. Check the thumbnails before exporting.
    2. Split the spread. Select a page, choose a vertical divider for left/right book pages or a horizontal divider for stacked scans, then set the split position. Choose which half comes first. Apply to this source, or choose checked pages or all pages and preview a batch before applying.
    3. Crop and rotate. Remove scanner borders with the four percentage fields. The overlay shows what you are trimming. Rotate in 90-degree steps, then crop in the orientation you see. Use the same margins for a checked selection or every page with a batch preview. Each page keeps its own rotation; you can still fine-tune it afterward.
    4. Check every page. Use the arrow buttons to fix the reading order. Omit blanks and accidental duplicates, or include them again. A spread with one omitted half still keeps its other half.
    5. Export and inspect. Choose the resolution and page size, export all included pages, then open the downloaded PDF to check the final reading order. Your original files are unchanged.

Made for scanned books and mixed page batches

Use this tool when a scanner captures two book pages in one image, when sideways scans interrupt a document, or when a folder contains covers, blanks and loose pages in the wrong order. All split positions and crops are manual, so you stay in control of illustrations, notes and narrow margins.

It does not recognize text, guess page boundaries, flatten curved book pages, deskew small angles or correct perspective. For searchable text, run OCR separately after you finish the page layout. For sharply tilted phone photographs, correct perspective before importing.

    Practical limits and export trade-offs

A batch that would exceed a limit is rejected with a message, rather than silently losing pages. The workspace supports 100 source pages and 200 output pages, input files up to 50 MiB each and 150 MiB in total, and still images up to 30 MP. Very large or malformed PDFs may still exceed your browser’s available memory. PDFs with inline images, unsupported content compression or predictors are rejected; convert those pages to PNG or JPEG first.

Export uses one JPEG raster per included page. Pages are rendered sequentially and capped at 12 MP and 4096 pixels on either side; the finished file has a 150 MiB size limit. If it is too large, lower the DPI or omit pages and export smaller groups. Page count is checked before a download is offered.

What stays local, and what uses the network?

Imported file bytes, page pixels, file names, crop values and generated PDFs are processed in this browser session. There is no document-upload endpoint and the workspace is not saved to an account. Reloading, clearing or leaving can discard your work; switching language opens a separate page.

PDF rendering and PDF export use pinned PDF.js 6.4.299 and pdf-lib 1.17.1 libraries loaded from jsDelivr, including PDF worker and font resources. Loading the page and those resources still makes network requests. Google Analytics is configured with the canonical page URL for visit statistics; this tool does not send file names, contents or edit values to analytics. The page is not guaranteed to work fully offline.

    Questions before you start

Can I split or crop a whole batch?

Yes. Set a divider or crop margins, choose checked pages or all pages, and preview the batch before applying it. The divider is manual, not detected automatically. Check every proposed page and adjust individual pages afterward. Selecting either half for a split rebuilds both halves of that source.

Does “original proportions” preserve a book’s physical dimensions?

For PDF sources, the cropped page keeps its PDF page-unit dimensions. Images use 150 DPI as an assumed source scale, rather than relying on embedded print metadata. A4 mode fits the crop inside an A4 portrait page with white space where needed.

Can I remove a blank page without deleting the source?

Yes. Omit it from export and include it again at any time. The source stays available until you clear or leave the workspace.

What happens if importing one file fails?

The selected batch is all-or-nothing. Previously imported pages stay intact, and an error explains why the new batch could not be added. Try a smaller batch or a supported, unencrypted file.

Can I undo a batch or restore a page?

Discard preview leaves every existing edit unchanged. Undo batch restores the exact page order, crops, rotations and inclusion before the latest batch, until the next edit or import. Undo crop restores the latest single-page crop. Reset page restores that half’s original crop and rotation and includes it again.

Is cropping safe for confidential information?

Do not rely on this tool for secure redaction or sanitization. Keep confidential documents under your own handling rules, and use a dedicated verified redaction workflow when information must be removed securely.
